Digitaliseringen i samhället kräver snabba förändringar, anpassning och utveckling vilket är ett fokus för systemvetarprogrammet. Programmet har ett systemperspektiv som genomsyrar hela utbildningen. Ett systemperspektiv möjliggör innovativt tillvägagångssätt för att arbeta med de möjligheter men även utmaningar som digital teknik och digitalisering för med sig. Möjligheter i form av produkter, tjänster och processer, inklusive sätt att hantera, organisera och samordna verksamheter och organisationer är centrala i samhällets digitalisering. Utmaningarna ligger ofta i dynamiken och komplexiteten. Systemvetarprogrammet lägger speciellt fokus på design, utveckling och användning av digital teknik.
