Overview
The course builds upon the still-relevant relational data model, which was originally proposed in 1970. The course begins by presenting how a data model is specified in diagram format. Then, using a mathematical description, it is shown how the model can be refined into a collection of tables that can be searched and manipulated by users. Finally, the course presents a more practical and standardised language for searching and manipulating databases, while also reflecting on how many users can be given access to data at the same time.
