Innovations for Emerging Cities: OpenLab Multidisciplinary Project Course, period 2

This course is a multidisciplinary, international project focused course on challenge-driven innovation. Students gain tools for applying design tools and innovation knowledge, benefiting both their future careers and further studies. You will learn to utilize Design Thinking to develop innovations on a given societal challenge posed by the Region of Stockholm health care or the City of Stockholm. You will collaborate in teams with peers from four universities, several countries, and disciplines where you will understand, define, identify, prototype, and test innovative solutions that contribute to advancing societal development in healthcare, education or areas of community planning. This course employs a challenge-driven pedagogy, emphasizing self-directed learning where students receive guidance from the course instructors. The course is part of a potential course package, with two course halves where you can choose to take just 7.5 credits independently in either period 1 or period 2. You may also opt for the full 15 credits, i.e. the full course package where the first period provides a broad introduction, while the second offers specialization.
