Kursen behandlar: · mänskliga samhällen i modern tid, deras påverkan på miljö och klimat samt de utmaningar vi står inför idag och i framtiden · samhällsbyggandets historia och utmaningar med miljö, kretslopps- och klimatanpassning · begreppen hållbarhet, hållbara städer, resiliens och naturbaserade lösningar och hur de hänger ihop · jordens naturliga och biokemiska kretslopp: hydrologiska cykeln, samt kol-, kväve- och fosforscyklerna · begreppet blågrön infrastruktur och dess tillämpningar, såsom dagvattenhantering genom naturbaserade lösningar, multifunktionella grönytor samt eko- och geosystemtjänster i urbana miljöer · fallstudier av framgångsrika projekt från Sverige såväl olika delar av världen och ge praktiska exempel för hållbar stadsplanering · ingenjörens verktygslåda: mass- och energibalanser, systembeskrivning, dimensionslösa tal och enheter, AI i ingenjörens tjänst.
