Kursen utgör en bred introduktion till miljövetenskap. Den utgår från de svenska miljökvalitetsmålen, de globala målen för hållbar utveckling samt de planetära gränserna. Den tar upp aktuella miljöfrågor som t.ex. klimat, biologisk mångfald och kemikalier i miljön. Kursen berör också myndigheters verktyg för att hantera miljöfrågorna. Kursen genomförs helt på distans utan träffar och examineras genom enskilda uppgifter samt skriftlig rapport med tillhörande redovisning.

Basic eligibility as well as Science 2, Mathematics 3b or Mathematics 3c. Science 2 can be replaced by Chemistry 1 and Physics 1a or Physics 1b1+1b2. Or: Science studies level 2, Mathematics further level 1b or Mathematics further level 1c. Science studies level 2 can be replaced by Chemistry level 1 and Physics level 1b or Physics level 1a1+1a2.
