Kursen inleds med att grundläggande färdigheter i geografiska informationssystem, GIS lärs ut. Studenterna skapar tematiska kartor i GIS med stöd i kurslitteraturens beskrivning av rådande konventioner och regler för framställning av tematiska kartor.
