Overview
How can the industry manufacture metal components in a more sustainable way?<br> In this course, you will get an introduction to sustainable production with a focus on real industrial applications. You will learn to understand different sustainability perspectives, such as environmental, economic, and social aspects, and how these affect production systems. The course provides an overview of key strategies for sustainable production, such as resilience and environmental management systems, as well as practical methods and tools for analysis, including eco-design, material flow analysis, and waste flow mapping. You will practice identifying sustainability challenges and opportunities for improvement in production systems, particularly related to metal components. After completing the course, you will have both the knowledge and practical skills to analyze and contribute to more sustainable production systems in industry.

Academic degree of at least 180 ECTS credits within Engineering and/or Technology or passed courses of at least 40 credits in the main field of study within Engineering and/or Technology and at least 1 year of work experience in the manufacturing industry or at least 4 years of work experience in the manufacturing industry. Proof of English proficiency is required.
