Overview
Kursen ger i modul 1 (Matematik, 4.5 hp (Mathematics, 4.5 ECTS)) en översikt över de matematiska begrepp och verktyg som kommer till användning i de inledande kurserna. Ekvationer, olikheter och funktioner är exempel på sådana viktiga begrepp. Särskild vikt läggs vid de inom teknikområdet mest centrala områdena - trigonometriska funktioner, polynom, exponential- och logaritmfunktioner samt elementär komplex analys. Kursens modul 2 (Experimentell metodik, 3 hp (Experimental methods, 3 ECTS)) behandlar experimentell metodik där den studerande ges övning i att planera och genomföra experiment samt att värdera resultaten med hjälp av statistiska verktyg. Vidare ges träning i att hantera programvara avsedd för beräkningar, ordbehandling och grafisk presentation, samt att ge en introduktion till skriftlig rapportering. Kursen omfattar två moduler: 1. Matematik, 4.5 hp (Mathematics, 4.5 ECTS); 2. Experimentell metodik, 3 hp (Experimental methods, 3 ECTS).
