För att vi uthålligt ska kunna vårda, förvalta och bevara våra unika utemiljö behöver vi kunskap om hur människan genom historien använt och format landskapet. I den här kursen får du genom föreläsningar och litteraturstudier kunskap om utvecklingen inom landskapsarkitekturen i relation till den allmänna samhällsutvecklingen och idéhistoriska strömningar. Kursen består av tre delkurser, svenska historiska landskap, landskapsarkitekturens historia och växtkännedom.
