Overview
Students study, interpret and perform a chosen repertoire in Western classical music on their main instrument. The course includes reports, reflections, and applications of repertoire, style, and interpretation as well as descriptions of techniques and methods for rehearsing and performing. The course also offers instruction and application of technically advanced exercises and of techniques and methods for rehearsing and performing a chosen repertoire as well as sight-reading of music notation at various levels of complexity. Repertoire that requires advanced technical skills on the main instrument is included as well. Parts of the repertoire are performed in in-house concerts. Students reflect upon musical learning processes and approaches to music. Instruction is in the form of individual tutorials, seminars, and master classes.
