Overview
Explore Marine Organisms in their natural environment! In this course, you will learn to identify marine animals and algae, both microscopic and macroscopic. You will also gain the ability to classify them according to their appropriate habitats, such as within the water column, on hard substrates, or buried in sediment. During the practical identification exercises, you will utilize various taxonomic guides. The course takes place at the [Tjärnö Marine Laboratory](<https://www.gu.se/en/tjarno>), near Strömstad and incurs mandatory costs for meals (approximately 9000 SEK in total).

Alternative 1: 60 credits of completed courses in biology. Alternative 2: 105 credits of completed courses within natural sciences, including at least 45 credits in biology. Alternative 3: 105 credits of completed courses within natural sciences, including at least 30 credits in biology and 30 credits in environmental sciences.
