Avklarade kurser på avancerad nivå om minst 60 hp, varav 45 hp inom huvudområdet svenska som andraspråk. Godkänd på kurserna Andraspråksinlärning 1, Andraspråksinlärning 2, Alfabetisering och litteracitet, Metoder inom andraspråksforskning, Språkanalys och bedömning. Detta förutsätter i sin tur filosofie kandidatexamen med 90 hp i svenska som andraspråk eller 90 hp i svenska språket/nordiska språk samt ytterligare 90 hp utöver huvudämnet, eller motsvarande.
