Overview
The first semester consists of the following courses in business administration: · Governance and Value Creation for Sustainability 7.5 credits · Strategy and management control, 7.5 credits · International accounting 7.5 credits · International auditing 7.5 credits The second semester entails further specialisation in business administration through the following courses: · Sustainability accounting and reporting 7.5 credits · Advanced research methods in business administration 7.5 credits · Master thesis in accounting and auditing for sustainable business management 15 credits The development within the programme takes place through students acquiring knowledge in sustainability, governance and value creation, and by focusing specifically on strategy and governance, international accounting and auditing for both the private and public sectors, as well as sustainability reporting and auditing. The programme is also structured around a work placement with an emphasis on ethics and organisations’ social responsibility. Within each course, relevant ethical issues are identified that are concretely applied to organisations. By making this connection continuously during the business administration courses, students are enabled to develop an understanding of issues within corporate ethics. Work placements within the programmes in business at Kristianstad University take place in close collaboration with business and industry and public administration. Students are affiliated with at least one organisation within the private or public sector. Students may engage in, for example, case studies through analysis of the relevant organisation with the help of business administration tools or field observations aiming to collect data that can be used, together with suitable texts, for independent projects at different levels. The Kristianstad University model for work placements provides for clear interaction between research, education and working life. More information is available in the syllabi for courses including work placements. The final step in the programme’s development consists of an in-depth study of business administration research methods that are applied in a subsequent degree project. During the degree project, students identify and immerse themselves under supervision in a current research issue in auditing and governance.
