Overview
The Master's Programme in Egyptology is unique; nowhere else in Sweden is it possible to take courses in Egyptology to an advanced degree. The programme is aimed at students who want in-depth knowledge of one of the world's most famous examples of a complex society in the past. The programme is predominantly comprised of compulsory courses, focusing on the study of texts, archaeology, art, architecture and material culture. You may also have the possibility to do an internship in a relevant professional environment, such as field projects, museums, archives or other cultural heritage management activities. The programme will equip you with the skills to undertake advanced analyses and plan major projects. You will also develop advanced skills such as reviewing and evaluating different types of source material and claims. Our graduates work as archivists, museum curators, museum educators, investigators, editors, aid workers, tour guides, cultural writers, teachers and university assistant researchers. A degree from the programme also qualifies you for applying to doctoral studies in Egyptology in Sweden or abroad. The language of instruction is English.

Entry requirements
_Academic requirements_ A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university. Also required is 120 credits in Egyptology including 30 credits in Egyptian languages. _Language requirements_ Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6. This requirement can be met either by achieving the required score on an internationally recognised test, or by previous upper secondary or university studies in some countries.
