The International Master's Programme in Evolutionary Biology - MEME offers you a first-class education and you can tailor your programme according to your career plan. The Master's programme has strong research links, enabling you to acquire in-depth, cutting-edge expertise in a specific field. MEME is two-year programme taught in English, offered in collaboration between four leading European universities: - Uppsala University (Sweden), - Ludwig Maximilian University (Germany), - University of Groningen (the Netherlands), and University of Montpellier (France). - You study at two of these institutions and gain access to outstanding research environments, global networks, and expert supervision. Teaching takes place in Uppsala and at one or more partner universities abroad, depending on the courses you choose. The programme provides you with a solid foundation in evolutionary theory, with the opportunity to specialise in areas such as behavioural ecology, genomics, molecular evolution, or phylogenetics. You will gain both theoretical insight and practical skills in experimental design, advanced statistical analysis, and scientific communication. Graduates of MEME are well-equipped for international research careers or work within applied biology. Our alumni work at institutions like the Max Planck Institute, the European Bioinformatics Institute, and the Swedish Museum of Natural History, as evolutionary biologists, data analysts, and research coordinators.
