Master's programme in Investigative Journalism

Are you a campaigner or activist who wants to hold the powerful to account? If you want to sharpen, deepen,and expand your journalistic skills, then apply to the one-year master’s programme in Investigative Journalism (MIJ). The one-year master’s programme in Investigative Journalism provides a rich understanding of investigative journalism as a democratic phenomenon, plus the skills to conceive, design, conduct, deliver, and publish effective journalistic investigations in today’s digital media environments. As a student of the programme, you will sharpen and expand your journalistic skills and develop the tools and understanding to use the potential of modern media. The goal is to prepare you for a changing news business through optimizing knowledge and skills that are essential in this turbulent market (data-driven journalism and visualization, project management, entrepreneurship, cross-sectional partnerships) but also fundamental journalistic values and ethics. You will develop the skills to monitor transnational institutions, business, and politics. Although the program is aimed at those looking to improve their journalistic skills, it could also be useful for campaigners, activists, charities and anyone with an interest in holding the powerful to account. The program consists of four compulsory courses of 15 credits. They are all campus-based and built on the student’s active involvement.
