Overview
The right treatment to the right patient at the right time. How can the treatment be tailored to individual patients? The Master's programme in Precision Medicine gives you theoretical knowledge and practical experience in generating and analysing large-scale biological data intended to diagnose patients, tailor treatments or in preventive screening. You will learn which technologies are best suited for different questions and what opportunities artificial intelligence and machine learning offer in analyses and interpretation. You will learn biostatistics and basic programming, and computer-based analysis runs throughout the programme. The programme also offers you the opportunity to choose your own in-depth courses in areas you are particularly interested in. Through collaboration with clinicians and researchers, you will be given the opportunity to analyse patient data and establish contacts with possible future employers. After completing the programme, you have unique competence in using and developing diagnostic tools that enable individualised care. Precision medicine is making strong progress internationally and can be used in a multitude of areas. Your skills will be needed within healthcare as well as the industry, e.g. pharmaceutical companies, or for continued research training in academia. The language of instruction is English.
