Overview
The Master's Programme in Quantum Technology will prepare you to be a part of the new quantum revolution. You will develop expertise in quantum phenomena and how they are used in the most recent technologies based on optical, electronic and magnetic properties. Uppsala University offers you an international environment with leading experts, cutting-edge research, and contacts with the industry. The Master's Programme in Quantum Technology gives you knowledge about the quantum mechanical laws that explain quantum effects in light and matter and give insight into the technological leaps now taking place. Leaps include developments in optoelectronics, photonics, information technology, nanotechnology, quantum materials, sustainable energy systems, medical instrumentation, as well as quantum communication and quantum computing. The opportunities for different choices through the programme will give you access to a broad labour market in an area that requires in-depth technological and theoretical knowledge. You can work at businesses developing information technology including its materials and components, improving energy supply systems, or targeting other environmental challenges, both at established larger companies, research-intensive companies, or start-ups. The programme will provide you with the set of skills needed to be a part of this new development, with job opportunities all over the world including continuing with a PhD. The language of instruction is English.
