Overview
<p>The programme provides in-depth knowledge of the broad and interdisciplinary field of toxicology and prepares students for a career either in research or as a professional toxicologist in the public sector or industry. The first semester focuses on the mechanisms and effects of interactions of cells and tissues with chemicals and drugs, while the second semester highlights methods and concepts for studying toxic effects and assessing health risks. Courses in the third semester place everything in the context of policy, ethics and society, and with a global perspective on sustainability. Elective courses allow students to deepen their knowledge in an area of their interest. The programme ends with the thesis project, which can be performed at a university, company or authority, in Sweden or aboad, depending on the student's interests. </p>

Entry requirements
A Bachelor's degree or a professional degree equivalent to a Swedish Bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in biomedicine, biology, cellular and molecular biology, pharmaceutics, chemistry, medicine, nutrition, biotechnology, or the equivalent. And proficiency in English equivalent to English B/English 6.
