Le cours a son point de départ dans les cours de français du niveau avancé. Dans un mémoire, l’étudiant développe les thèmes théoriques et thématiques abordés pendant ces cours. Le mémoire est rédigé en français et le choix d’un sujet se fait en accord avec le directeur de mémoire. Dans le cours sont inclus des séminaires obligatoires où l’étudiant présente son travail et lit et commente le travail des autres participants. Lors de la soutenance de son mémoire l’étudiant devra aussi faire le rapport critique de l’un des autres travaux présentés.
