Kursen inleds med behandla grunderna i algebra och funktionsbegrepp i syfte att bl a kunna lösa ekvationer. Kursens huvudmoment är grunder inom matematisk analys. Här behandlas ändringskvot och gränsvärde vilket leder fram till derivatans definition. Med den senare visas olika deriveringsregler för elementära funktioner vilket gör det möjligt analysera funktioners grafer och hitta lösningar till optimeringsproblem. Analysmomentet avslutas med att hitta primitiva funktioner och beräkna integraler, bl a för areabestämning. Kursen avlutas med trigonometri i form av triangelsatser som verktyg för att lösa geometriska problem.
