Overview
The course covers basic biomechanics, various measurement and assessment methods, and measurement equipment relevant to assistive technology. Objective and subjective methods for measuring, rating, and assessing body structures and body functions are studied and applied. The course also includes objective and subjective methods for measuring, rating, and assessing individuals’ experiences of quality of life as well as capacity for and performance of activity and participation in society. For all measurement, rating, and assessment methods, their possibilities and limitations are addressed. The studies are conducted, among other formats, in the form of laboratory exercises.
