Overview
Kursen, som består av två moduler: Muntlig mediereflektion och Skriftlig medieanalys, introducerar hur medier och samhällssystem förhåller sig till varandra, samt hur medier och mediekonventioner påverkar oss som individer och som grupper i det samhälle vi lever i. I första modulen studeras mediers roll i ett samhälle ur ett medieteoretiskt perspektiv. Informationsspridning, opinionsbildning, idéutbyte och granskning av organisationer och makt diskuteras, liksom medieproducentens agentskap och individuella ansvar i den samtida mediekontexten. I den andra modulen analyseras existerande medieproduktioner ur perspektiv som belyser frågor om demokrati, medieanvändning, medielandskapets förändringar och ramverk. Här ges särskild uppmärksamhet åt etik och juridik i relation till informationsspridning, urval, perspektiv och vilseledande.
