Overview
During the course you will get acquainted with core social science methods as well as ontological and epistemological approaches. You will learn about quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and data analysis. You will also learn how to apply the techniques of statistical analysis, interviews, qualitative text analysis and participatory observations.<br> The course will introduce you to a scientific approach that will assist you in your thesis work. You will learn how to interpret and evaluate research and how to implement, evaluate and present a study of high quality. During the course, you will work in project groups to discuss and try different methods and scientific approaches. In addition, you will work with your individual research proposal, designing a future study in your subject area.<br> The course is taught as an in-depth BA level course in global studies, human ecology, international relations, and global development studies.
