Kursen omfattar musikteori, musikproduktionsanalys, musikalisk upphovsrätt och introducerar samtida musikproduktions- och mixningstekniker, grundläggande orkestrering och produktionsverktyg. Första modulen, Musikteori, utgörs av musikteoretiska aspekter av komposition där även analysmetoder för klingande material presenteras. Andra modulen, Upphovsrätt inom musik- och ljudproduktion, fokuserar grundläggande upphovsrättsliga rättigheter och skyldigheter inom på området. Tredje modulen, Etnografisk essä, innefattar att en genres sociala och konstnärliga konventioner undersöks med etnografisk metod. Fjärde modulen, Verktyg för musikskapande och musikproduktion, omfattar fördjupande verktygskunskaper och processförståelse inom musikproduktion. Sista modulen, Eget projekt, fokuserar eget skapande av en gestaltande audiovisuell produktion.
