Overview
The course is aimed at you who want to develop your individual excellence as an instrumentalist/singer, or as a chamber musician together with your already established ensemble. The studies are mostly designed individually under the guidance of experienced teachers of international level. From the course content: • Main instrument/vocal studies, or chamber music • Concerts • Playing with pianist • Professional recording We accept Swedish and international students on all traditional orchestral instruments* as well as piano, guitar, vocals, and saxophone. *percussion only focusing on marimba and vibraphone. The studies in chamber music take place together with an already established ensemble. Everyone in the ensemble needs to apply for the course individually. The individual arrangement and the generous lesson time give you maximum opportunities to develop your musicianship based on your individual goals. When learning new repertoire, you will have the opportunity to play it in front of an audience at one of our concerts. The course also gives you the opportunity to make a recording of professional quality and learn more about things like microphone placement and mixing. The possibilities are many, and to get the most out of your studies you need to be prepared to work independently and be clear about what you want to achieve. At the Music Department at Örebro University, you have access to appropriate and well-equipped premises for practice and rehearsals. The concerts are given in the school's coveted concert hall with a Steinway concert grand and professional sound and lighting. As a student, you have access to our sheet music library, music and notation software, accounts for digital magazines, etc. Should you choose to live in another city, it is possible because the lessons are planned in consultation with the teachers, and some consideration can therefore be given to what works with your everyday life.
