Studenten genomför ett produktionsprojekt med stark anknytning till arbetslivet: förlagt till ett företag (eller motsvarande) eller på egen hand i entreprenöriell anda. Innan det praktikförlagda arbetet inleds, skriver studenten en plan som bl a innehåller förslag till litteratur. Godkänd plan krävs för att börja det praktikförlagda arbetet. Under projektarbetet strävar studenten mot en förståelse för yrkesarbetets problemställningar och -lösningar. En rapport skrivs i anslutning till den arbetsplatsförlagda utbildningen. I rapporten reflekterar studenten kring sambandet mellan utbildning och yrkesverksamhet.
