Overview
The course comprises two modules. Module 1 This module includes general music education, including seminars with presentations and discussions of texts from current general and music education journals, research, and debates, and development of a personal teaching philosophy. The ensemble methodology component focuses on ear-based ensemble leadership within the genres of folk and world music. The module also covers methodology for teaching music theory and composition, including supervised practice teaching. Module 2 This module offers both theoretical and practical orientation in tonal counterpoint from the 18th to the 20th century.
