Overview
Now it is possible to study mycology at SLU in Uppsala. We provide an introductory course and an advanced course for those who know some about fungi and mushrooms and want to learn more about their biology, ecology and taxonomy, learn to recognize the most common fungi and learn more about the importance of fungi for the ecosystems and for humans. The courses are given in Swedish and are aimed at you who are student interested in fungi, or those who want to become a mushroom consultant (svampkonsulent) or work or want to work with fungi in your profession, for example within nature conservation. The courses are a development of the successful mycology courses that Elisabeth Bååth organized at Umeå University in 1993-2012. Svampkonsulenternas Riksförbund is participating as teachers in the courses.

Entry requirements
Basic eligibility for higher education and knowledge corresponding to - 5 credits Mycology. Alternatively knowledge corresponding to at least 30 credits in biology including 7\.5 credits microbiology, 7.5 credits botany and 15 credits ecology.
