Nature Based Interventions

Students in this course will explore how natural environments contribute to human health and well-being, based on the latest knowledge and practices in nature-based interventions. They will learn how to apply this understanding to enhance the planning and design of spaces for such interventions. The course will emphasize the diverse roles different landscapes, such as forests, gardens, waterscapes, and highlands, can play in promoting well-being. Designed to be an interactive learning experience, the course actively encourages student participation. Through various methods, including written assignments, oral presentations, seminars, and field trips, students will engage deeply with both the material and their peers. This approach fosters a sense of responsibility for their learning, empowering students to shape their educational journey. The course has four main modules, each with specific learning objectives. These modules will be supplemented by compulsory online elements, which will form part of the examination.
