Nordic Climate Change Studies

The course provides basic and advanced knowledge of Nordic nature and environment, and how impacts of climate change may adversely affect the world and mainly Sweden today and in the future. Particular focus of the course will be climate tipping points, and how climate change may impact societal culture and trigger social disruptions. The course will also cover how climate change and its impacts are communicated to the wider society. An excursion will be organised to visit nature, environment and places in Sweden representing the Nordic, and to study how these will be impacted today and in the future by anthropogenic climate change. Goals and policies regarding climate change mitigation in the Nordic countries will be studied as well. The teaching is organised among the study period, excursion and project work with special focus on Nordic countries. The course is indeed free of costs but charges apply regarding the excursion, which will be communicated at the beginning of the course.
