Kursen behandlar design och implementering av dokumentbaserade Nosql-databaser, från kravspecifikation över konceptuell modellering och logisk design till fysisk implementering. En grundläggande begreppsapparat skapas med begrepp som dokument, databashanterare, användare, integritet, indexering, dataaggregering och datafiltrering som fundamentala byggstenar. Undervisningen sker i form av föreläsningar, laborationshandledning och seminarier.
