Overview
Many people spend more time at their workplaces than with their families. Organizations are the place where people come together to perform services or produce something in the private or public sector. Cooperation and coordination are important for organizations to function and for the well-being of the people working in them. This is the course for those who want to understand more about psychology in relation to organizations and working life. Organizational psychology is broad and covers many areas. The course touches on issues such as how to make work groups work well and how to create a good working environment. Organizations are subject to constant change and the course also provides knowledge and understanding of how change work can and should be conducted in the most painless way possible. The course consists of five sub-courses, all of which touch on central parts of organizational psychology: Subcourse 1 - Introduction to organizational psychology, introducing basic organizational psychology concepts and theories. Module 2 - Working conditions, motivation, stress and health focuses on providing an overview of theoretical concepts and models for analyzing and describing psychosocial work environment conditions that have an impact on human health, functioning and motivation Module 3 - Workgroups and other groups from a psychological perspective provides basic theoretical knowledge in group psychology Module 4 - Leadership and Organizational Behavior provides basic theoretical
