Overview
Palaeontology is the key to numerous geological archives and processes. In this course, students will learn about the evolutionary history of life; mass extinctions; the main categories of fossil animals and plants through time, including microfossils and pollen; the use of fossil archives in the interpretation of environments and chronology; as well as the interplay between evolution, ecology, global nutrient cycles, atmospheric composition and climate systems through Earth history.

Entry requirements
For admission to the course, knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree is required, which must include at least 90 credits in geology, geosciences, biogeochemistry, or environmental science. English 6 or equivalent.
