Kursen behandlar etiologi, patogenes och symtom vid sjukdom i ett integrerat molekylärt, morfologiskt och patofysiologiskt perspektiv. Kursen innehåller också diagnostik av sjukdom genom laboratorieundersökningar inom klinisk patologi, klinisk kemi, klinisk fysiologi, klinisk genetik och klinisk immunologi. Vidare behandlar kursen forsknings- och försöksdjursetik. I kursen ingår även moment inom praktisk professionell träning och interprofessionellt lärande.
