Overview
The purpose of the course is for students to learn about various educational methods that can be used to communicate about and teach risk and environmental issues. The course is based on the methods, tools, and games developed in RiskLab at Karlstad University, where some course components are also conducted. In the course, students will have the opportunity to develop, test, and evaluate educational methods with a focus on risk and environmental issues. Students will also acquire a theoretical basis in knowledge related to education, games development, learning, communication, risk management, environmental science, and transformation. The course includes the following components:<br> \- Introduction to RiskLab and the methods, tools, and games developed there.<br> \- Basic theoretical knowledge in education, games development, learning, communication, risk management, environmental science, and transformation with a focus on risk and environmental issues.<br> \- Basic practical knowledge of the development, testing, and evaluation of educational methods.

Entry requirements
At least 60 ECTS credits in one of the subjects Environmental Science, Risk Management, Risk and Environmental Studies, Communication Studies, Subject-specific Education, Educational Studies, Games Development, and Social and Spatial Planning, or equivalent.
