I kursinnehållet integreras ämnena omvårdnad och medicinsk vetenskap. Under verksamhetsförlagd utbildning (VFU) får studenten i samråd med handledare utvecklas mot att med ett professionellt förhållningssätt självständigt och systematiskt kunna tillämpa och leda omvårdnadsprocessen i komplexa vårdsituationer.
