Overview
<p>In this course you will get a historical and philosophical perspective on the mathematical sciences. You will learn about the development of a selection of key concepts in mathematics. There will also be discussions about the role of mathematics in society and driving forces, processes and methods of research in mathematics. You will practice giving oral presentations in English and mathematical writing in English. The course is compulsory for a Master's degree in Mathematics or Mathematical statistics.</p>

To be eligible for the course it is necessary to be admitted to the two-year Master's Program in Mathematical Sciences, or to have completed a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Mathematical statistics.
