Kursen Galenisk farmaci behandlar först grundläggande fysikalkemiska moment som är relevanta för förståelsen av ämnet galenisk farmaci, som t.ex. lösningars fysikalkemiska egenskaper, kolligativa fenomen, diffusion samt yt- och kolloidkemi. Kursen tar sedan upp utformning, framställning och kontroll av bruksfärdiga läkemedel. De olika beredningsformerna och deras egenskaper, speciellt tekniska och biofarmaceutiska aspekter, samt relevanta fysikaliska system, deras egenskaper och karakterisering tas upp. Vidare ingår kvalitetssäkring och GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) och biologiska läkemedel.
