Kursen behandlar grundläggande mekanismer för läkemedels effekter på cell-, organ- och organismnivå, läkemedelsbiverkningar och -interaktioner. Kursen omfattar: - basala farmakodynamiska och farmakokinetiska principer - nervsystemets farmakologi - hjärt-, kärl-, lung- samt magtarmkanalens farmakologi - antiinflammatoriska och immunsuppressiva läkemedel, missbruksfarmakologi, läkemedel vid infektion och cancer samt läkemedelsutveckling.

Entry requirements
At least 120 ECTS in any of the main field of studies Biomedicine, Medicine, Odontology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Laboratory Science or corresponding. At least 30 ECTS from completed courses in Chemistry; documented practical experience of laboratory work comprising a minimum of 30 ECTS. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6/level 2.
