För legitimerad sjuksköterska med studiegång före 1993 krävs sjuksköterskeutbildning med inriktning mot allmän hälso- och sjukvård samt kandidatexamen i omvårdnad. Dessutom krävs, för båda studiegångarna, 2 års yrkeserfarenhet som legitimerad sjuksköterska.
