Overview
Kursen ger en introduktion till grundläggande etiska begrepp samt en introduktion till kritiskt tänkande och rationell argumentation kring normer och värderingar. I kursen behandlas och diskuteras flera olika normativa teorier som innebär ett systematiskt och kritiskt sökande efter rimliga moraliska utgångspunkter att tillämpa vid lösningen av etiska problem. Centrala problem inom etiken är t ex eutanasi, självmord och abort. Exempel på teorier som behandlas och diskuteras är t ex utilitarism, dygdetik och deontologisk etik. I kursen behandlas och diskuteras även olika värdeteorier som handlar om värdeutsagors innebörd och deras tillämpning. Centrala problem inom värdeteorin är hur värdeomdömen rättfärdigas, t ex om värderingar kan vara objektiva i någon rimlig mening. Exempel på teorier som diskuteras är t ex emotivism och värdeobjektivism.
