Kursen syftar till att ge dig en vetenskaplig grund kring sambandet mellan fysisk aktivitet, träning och hälsa, med fokus på prevention av livsstilsrelaterade sjukdomar. Kursen baseras till stor del på boken Fysisk aktivitet i Sjukdomsprevention och Sjukdomsbehandling (FYSS). Kursen innefattar också träningslära, metoden Fysisk aktivitet på recept (FaR), metoder för utvärdering och redskap för att stödja en beteendeförändring och vidmakthålla denna. Kursen består av både teoretiska och praktiska moment där olika studentaktiverande pedagogiska metoder tillämpas.
