Physical Geography: Hydrology

<p>Access to water resources of sufficient quality and in sufficient quantities are questions with an increasing importance for the whole world. The overall goal with this course is to give the student knowledge related to hydrology from different perspectives. Water is crucial for life, but may also be a threat to people and infrastructure.</p><p>The overall goal of the course is to give you hydrological knowledge from different perspectives. This means that you must have knowledge of the water cycle in nature and how humans affect this in different ways.</p> <h3>Course content</h3> <p>Important components are the soil-water-vegetation relationship, the movements of the water on the ground surface, infiltration and movements in the soil. Concepts such as aquifers, groundwater formation, water holding capacity, saturated and unsaturated zone, surface runoff, storm surge and floods and their causes are central to the course.</p> <p>The course gives you an introduction to agreements, agreements and regulations that deal with water issues nationally and internationally. The knowledge that you gain during the course can be applied in different contexts with a physical geographical and ecosystem scientific perspective.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
