Overview
Kursen omfattar två moduler. Modul 1: Teori, 6 förutbildningspoäng Modul 2: Laborationer, 1.5 förutbildningspoäng Kursen innehåller praktiska och teoretiska inslag inom mekanik, ellära och värmelära samt introduktion till klimat och väder, relativitet, växelverkan mellan laddningar, kärnenergi och strålning. Begrepp som massa, kraft, hastighet, acceleration, gravitation, rörelsemängd, impuls, arbete, ström, spänning, resistans, effekt och energi behandlas. Exempel på tekniska tillämpningar är termometern, batteriet, värmepumpen, Geiger-mätaren och kol-14 metoden. I laborationsmodulen ingår experimentell metodik. I denna modul tränas studenten att hantera basala mätinstrument, hur man värderar sina mätresultat, hur man för protokoll och varför det är viktigt. Dessutom genomförs grundläggande färdighetsträning i rapportskrivning.
