<p>This course will offer an overview of thermodynamic phenomena and kinetic processes from a materials science perspective, with application towards nanomaterials. </p> <p>Contents are:</p> <ul> <li>review of basic thermodynamics</li> <li>thermodynamic equilibrium</li> <li>phase equilibria and phase diagrams</li> <li>reactions and reaction kinetics</li> <li>heat transport</li> <li>mass transport in solids and fluids</li> <li>size effects</li> </ul> <p>The course is given by the Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and follows the LTH study period and examination schedule.</p>

Entry requirements
Admission to the course requires 90 credits in scientific studies, or a bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry or equivalent - in both cases including a course that contains at least 2.5 credits thermodynamics. Furthermore is required English 6/B and general entry requirements.
