I kursen kommer studenterna tillägna sig kunskaper om solcellers fysik och funktion, samt ett antal olika solcellstyper inklusive möjliga framtida koncept. Kursen behandlar - Halvledarfysik av pn-övergången - Uppbyggnad och funktion av aktuella kiselbaserade solceller och moduler - Produktionsteknologier för kiselplattor och produktionsmetoder för solceller och moduler - Processer som begränsar verkningsgraden och koncept för att öka verkningsgraden - Uppbyggnad och funktion av andra solcellstyper och framtida koncept - De viktigaste karakteriseringsmetoderna för solceller - Degradering av solceller och moduler - Teststandarder för moduler - Solstrålning - Simulering av solceller

Entry requirements
Högskoleingenjörsexamen, civilingenjörsexamen eller kandidatexamen med huvudområde inom elektroteknik, maskinteknik, energiteknik, fysik, eller teknisk fysik. Alternativt 90 hp fysik samt 15 hp matematik. Gymnasiets engelska 6. Motsvarandebedömning kan göras.
