Teoretisk ämneskunskap gällande patofysiologi vid nedsättning i respiratoriska och cirkulatoriska system studeras ingående. Grundläggande teorier om rehabilitering behandlas med huvudfokus på tillämpning inom de aktuella målgrupperna. Cancer, farmakologi, ICF (Klassifikation av funktionstillstånd, funktionshinder och hälsa), journalföring, anamnestagning och interprofessionell samverkan studeras på en grundläggande nivå. Praktisk färdighetsträning i fysioterapeutiska metoder för anamnestagning, undersökning, funktionsbedömning och planering av behandlande och rehabiliterande insatser, såväl fysiskt som digitalt, för personer med nedsättning i respiratoriska och cirkulatoriska systemen ingår.
