Overview
Hur ser världen ut i en pekbok? Vilka normer utmanas och reproduceras i moderna bilderböcker? Hur ser maktförhållandet mellan barn och vuxna ut i litteratur för barn? Vilka föreställningar om barn och barndom tar plats i samtida debatter om barnlitteratur? Det är några av de frågor som behandlas under denna kurs. Kursen ger en introduktion till den moderna bilderboken och barnromanens genrer, teman och berättartekniker genom närstudier av ett antal verk. Fokus ligger på hur frågor om identitet, genus och etnicitet behandlas i barnlitteraturen. Vi diskuterar också de motstridiga behov barnlitteraturen förväntas tillfredsställa – uppfostrande, pedagogiska, estetiska och emancipatoriska.
