I kursen introduceras centrala statsvetenskapliga begrepp och vetenskapsteoretiska traditioner. Vidare behandlas klassiska politiska ideologier med syfte att ge olika idémässiga och ideologiska perspektiv på centrala begrepp såsom demokrati, stat och rättvisa med fördjupning i marxism och liberalism.
